Summer 2018 Classes

Like any other skill, when you don’t dance for a few months, it’s going to take some time to get back to where you left off. It can take weeks to regain lost strength, technique, and flexibility. Don’t let summer set you back! Summer dance classes at Westside Studio of Performing Arts are great for dancers of all levels and provide many benefits.

  1. Summer Classes allow students to try new styles of dance that they might not try during the school year. Sometimes students are too busy during the school year to try something different. Also, since summer sessions run for a shorter period of time, there’s less of a commitment in case they don’t like it.
  2. For intermediate and advanced dancers who are wanting to push themselves to the next level, summer classes allow them to focus on their training without having to balance school and other school year activities. This allows them to not only maintain what they have already worked on, but also get a leg up (literally!) on the next season.
  3. Dance classes held during the summer are usually smaller. This allows dancers to get more attention from their instructors and build better relationships. Overall this provides more opportunity for growth.
  4. Many studios like us, have dance camps for younger children. This is an awesome way for young kids to get some exercise while beating summer boredom. Our camps are a combination of dance and play that allow the young ones to gain the benefits of dance education. Our camps are always tons of fun! Check out our summer schedule for more information. You can view our schedule below or print our flyer here: Summer Flyer
  5. This summer we are using CLASS CARDS instead of registering for individual classes. To purchase class cards you log in to your Account Portal and click on Class Cards under the Online Store section. Once there click on the child you are buying the class card for. Choose which class card you would like looking at both level and age ranges within the levels. Dancers are more than welcome to level up over the summer or if they have a class during the day they would rather take found in a different level, they are welcome to do so. Once purchased we will create their punch card and keep at the front desk. Once a class is taken we will punch the card and let you know when their card is running low.
  6. So how do punch cards work? You buy either single classes for $15 or buy 1 week, 3 weeks or 6 weeks worth of classes. So for example level 1 and 2….One week gives you 12 classes. You can come the entire week which is 4 days or you can can come one day a week for 4 weeks, two days a week for two weeks, etc. or just use 12 classes throughout the summer. Levels 3 and 4….One week gives you 16 classes. You can come the entire week which is 4 days or you can can come one day a week for 4 weeks, two days a week for two weeks, etc. or just use 16 classes throughout the summer.

Check out below or our summer brochure for information on summer classes, schedules, dance camps, and registration! We’d love to have you join our dance filled summer!
